Wonbeak Yoo

About

Dr. Yoo is a researcher at Korea Research Institute of Bioscience and Biotechnology (KRIBB). Dr. Yoo received a Ph.D. degree in 2013 (College of Medicine, Korea University). He worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the department of molecular and cellular oncology (MD Anderson Cancer Center at Houston, USA). After a postdoctoral course, he worked as a researcher at KAIST, KRIBB, and AceBiome Inc. (Daejeon, South Korea). Dr. Yoo's research interests include (1) causes, mechanisms, and experimental therapy for cancers; (2) cancer related disease including anorexia-cachexia; (3) development of diagnostic and prognostic markers for cancer; (4) metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD); (5) microbiome and application for human health; (6) establishment and utilization of preclinical experimental in vitro and in vivo models; (7) bioinformatic validation for biomarkers. Overall, his interests are on the translational cancer research, bridging the basic research with novel therapeutic approaches development.
